Description

The Dormer A110 HSS Long Series 5/16″ is a professional-grade drill bit designed for applications requiring a deeper reach or for drilling through thicker workpieces than a standard “jobber” length bit can accommodate. As a 5/16″ (7.94mm) bit, it is a versatile size frequently used for drilling clearance holes for 5/16″ bolts or as a tap drill for 3/8″-24 UNF (Fine Thread) and M9 x 1.0 metric threads. The A110 series is specifically engineered to maintain rigidity and accuracy even with its extended length. It features a Steam Tempered (black oxide) finish, which is the industrial standard for reducing friction and preventing “cold welding”—where material chips bond to the flutes of the drill.
