Description

Thoriated tungsten electrodes, specifically the WT20 grade, are versatile welding consumables made from tungsten alloyed with approximately 2% thorium oxide. They are renowned for their excellent arc stability, high current carrying capacity, and longevity, making them suitable for various welding applications, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.  Ideal for gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW or TIG welding), WT 20 electrodes enable precise control over the welding process and are particularly effective for joining both thin and thick materials. However, due to the presence of radioactive thorium, it is important to follow proper safety protocols during their handling and use.
